A man has been taken to hospital via ambulance by Eastern Health paramedics with undetermined injuries as the result of a workplace accident in Kilbride.
He was working at the rear of a house under construction on Old Bay Bulls Road when he fell about 15 feet from scaffolding to the ground.
A number of paramedics, RNC and St. John’s Regional Fire Department units are on scene and traffic was slowed temporarily until the first responders left.
Acting shift superintendent Chris Jefford of the SJRFD told The Telegram the man’s injures aren’t thought to be serious and the man was conscious and speaking to first responders while being assessed.
As it was a workplace accident, the province’s Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) division will be called to the scene.
Work on the house is halted during the investigation and workers were waiting to speak with investigators.
An RNC unit accompanied the ambulance to the Health Sciences Centre emergency department, which was put on alert for a possible trauma case.
