ST. JOHN'S, N.L. — A 45-year-old man has been charged with impaired driving and was held in custody overnight after police were called to the east end of the St. John’s to look into a report of a motor vehicle accident.
Although the man and his vehicle weren’t on the scene when Royal Newfoundland Constabulary officers arrived, witnesses helped the police in locating the car and driver a short distance away.
The vehicle was impounded and the driver was held pending a court appearance where he will face charges of refusing a breathalyzer test, failure to remain at the scene of an accident, uttering threats and breach of a court order, in addition to the impaired charge.
