St. John’s, N.L. — Reports of an intoxicated man shortly before 11 p.m. Friday resulted in his arrest in connection with a more serious series of incidents that occurred earlier including forcible confinement and vehicle theft.

When the RNC responded to the complaint of an intoxicated person in the centre of the city of St. John’s they discovered the 56-year-old was wanted in relation to another complaint earlier in the day for assault at a residence in the east end of St. John’s.

The man was arrested and charged with uttering threats, assault causing bodily harm, overcoming resistance, forceable confinement, theft of motor vehicle, and breach of court order.

He was to appear in court Saturday morning.
