MOUNT PEARL, N.L. — A man owing in excess of $23,000 in fines under the Highway Traffic Act likely tacked a few more dollars onto his bill Sunday afternoon in Mount Pearl.

The 62-year-old man, already on a court order to not drive a vehicle, was stopped on Park Avenue in Mount Pearl around 4:30 p.m.

He was charged with failure to transfer ownership of the vehicle, not having insurance and driving while suspended.

His vehicle was impounded and the accused was held for a provincial court appearance on Monday.
