Accident investigators with the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary are looking for the public's help as they look into a motorcycle accident on Columbus Drive in St. John's Sunday afternoon, one which left a man in hospital with serious injuries.

The man was hurt when his motorcycle collided with a vehicle travelling in the opposite direction.

The RNC is looking for witnesses or anyone with dash-camera or CCTV footage from the area of Columbus Drive between Thorburn Road and Old Pennywell Road at about 4 p.m. Sunday.

A motorcyclist was taken to hospital following a two-vehicle collision in St. John’s Sunday afternoon.

The crash occurred on Columbus Drive between the intersection with Old Pennywell Road and exit to Wishingwell Road and left the motorcycle with extensive damage.

An official on scene told The Telegram it appears the motorcyclist lost control of his bike southbound and crossed into northbound traffic where he was struck by an oncoming vehicle.

The man was treated on scene by paramedics and taken to hospital with undetermined injuries, but he was conscious and speaking to first responders on the scene.

The RNC is investigating the incident.
