A routine traffic stop Sunday night in Mount Pearl landed a 32-year-old man in custody and awaiting a court appearance this morning.
Royal Newfoundland Constabulary officers determined the driver, already sought by police on an outstanding warrant, had $37,000 in outstanding fines.
In addition to fines, the accused garnered new charges of operating a vehicle without a valid insurance policy, operating a vehicle with a false registration sticker, failing to transfer ownership of the vehicle and driving while suspended.
