Firefighters had to use extrication tools to free the female driver of a car involved in a multi-vehicle collision Sunday afternoon.
The crash happened just after 2 p.m. at the intersection of Bay Bulls Road and Columbus Drive and involved three cars. The incident left all three vehicles with extensive damage and tied up traffic at the busy intersection for more than an hour.
Both the woman and a second person from another one of the cars were taken to hospital with injuries that were not thought to be serious.
