ST. JOHN'S, N.L. — Newfoundland and Labrador's chief medical officer of health says up to six more people are allowed to join with existing double bubbles.

The extra people do not need to be from the same household, but decisions cannot be changed once made.

The doubling up of households was announced earlier this month under Alert Level 4.

Residents are encouraged to make choices wisely, and not feel pressured to expand their bubbles if they don't want to.

Alert Level 3, which allows more businesses to open, comes into effect on June 8 barring any changes in COVID-19 infections in the province.
