No injuries when driverless vehicle flips over in Spaniard’s Bay

Bay Roberts RCMP say there were no injuriesa s a result a single-vehicle rollover involving a runaway SUV on Sheppards Hill in Spaniard’s Bay on Tuesday.

There had been four people in the mid-sized vehicle, but the police investigation revealed the driver had stepped out of SUV, believing it was in park. However, it was still in gear; the vehicle and its three passenger — including two children buckled in the back seats — began rolling down the hill.

The front-seat passenger made an attempt to get to the driver’s side to stop the rolling vehicle but was unsuccessful. Instead, the SUV swerved in the road and ended up rolling onto its roof.

 All occupants were examined and there were no injuries. 

The SUV was towed from the scene.
