ST. JOHN'S, N.L. — Ashley Madison, the online dating site that hooks up cheaters, says St. John’s is right in the middle of the pack when it comes to the biggest cheating cities in Canada.

St. John’s placed eight on the list.

The list looks at each city’s summer of 2018 signups on a per capita basis in order to determine the most scandalous cities in all of Canada, Ashley Madison said in a news release.

Most of the cities that made the list are small or medium size.

“While most would assume that bigger cities probably produce more cheaters per capita, this data shows us what we were already aware of; cheaters are everywhere,” Isabella Mise, director of communications for Ashley Madison, said in the release.

“Seeing a city like Guelph that’s more well known for its agriculture than its nightlife, beat out places that are known as for their nightlife, like Montreal or Toronto, just reinforces that infidelity can be found in every facet of life, and no city big or small is immune to it. This year it’s Guelph, next year… who knows, it could be your hometown.”

Ashley Madison is a controversial website that launched in 2001 and targets married men and women looking for discreet extramarital affairs.
