The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) found inspiration in Santa's reindeer with an enforcement activity planned for the holidays.

Operation: Rudolph is a partnership with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Mothers Against Drunk Driving Canada, and City of Mount Pearl Municipal Enforcement to conduct what the RNC called "strategic enforcement activities on our province’s roads".

In a news release issued Thursday, the RNC wrote that Operation: Rudolph will target impaired, distracted and dangerous driving throughout the month of December.

"We are encouraging individuals planning to attend social functions over the holidays with plans to consume alcohol or cannabis, to arrange for a safe and sober drive home," reads the news release.
