If it gets approval by the Transport Safety Board this morning, the Provincial Airlines Dash 8 plane that made an emergency controlled landing at Stephenville airport Thursday may be on its way to St. John’s today.

Transport Safety Board officials are in Stephenville and expected to inspect the plane starting at 8 a.m. today.
Brenda Martin, chief executive officer at Stephenville airport, said Provincial Airlines has tentatively planned for the plane to go out at noon hour.
Nobody was injured during the landing that took place when the front wheels wouldn’t come down on the plane.
She appreciated the fact that the Transport Safety Board approved the moving of the plane the previous evening from the runway, so that the runway could be open to traffic once again.
Martin said as it happened a WestJet 737-600 plane out of Toronto bound for Halifax with 117 passengers on board landed in Stephenville on Friday afternoon, which once again demonstrated the importance of Stephenville airport as an alternate for airports in Atlantic Canada and oceanic flights.
She said four of the passengers from that plane who were bound for Western Newfoundland got off in Stephenville.
The plane was going to make another attempt to land in Halifax after leaving Stephenville and if the airport was still down due to weather was going to head back to Toronto.
