A Plum Point man is facing impaired driving charges after crashing his vehicle in the community on the morning of Tuesday, Nov. 6.
Port Saunders RCMP were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision just after 11 a.m., according to a release.
A police officer in the area at the time headed to the scene and found the 63-year-old fleeing the area.
The man, who was located at his residence minutes later, was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle.
Breath samples provided by the man showed his blood alcohol level was more than three times the legal limit, the release indicated.
A driver’s licence suspension was issued and the man’s vehicle was impounded for 30 days.
The man was released from custody and will appear in Port au Choix Provincial Court at a later date.
