Friday morning around 9:30 a.m., Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) officers responded to a report of a shoplifter leaving a business in the east end of the capital city.

In a report, the RNC wrote that police located the suspect in another nearby store.

Police arrested and charged a 38-year-old man with theft under $5,000 and for failing to comply with a court order.

Police say the man was brought to provincial court.
