PLACENTIA, N.L. – A man from the Placentia area has been charged for allegedly driving impaired.

According to a release, the Placentia RCMP responded to a report just after midnight on Aug. 8 that a vehicle had gone off the road in the town.

Police located the driver, who was attempting to walk away from the vehicle, and arrested him for impaired operation of a motor vehicle, the release notes.

The man provided breath samples that were three times the legal limit for alcohol in the blood, police say.

The 46-year-old’s licence was suspended and the vehicle was impounded for 30 days.

He has a court date set for Oct. 3
