CONCEPTION HARBOUR, N.L. — A 37-year-old woman has been charged, but police are still looking for a male suspect in relation to a home invasion that occurred in Conception Harbour early Monday.

At approximately 1:30 a.m., officers from the Holyrood RCMP were dispatched to the residence in question, but eventually officers from the Ferryland and Bay Roberts detachments, along with RCMP Police Dog Services, attended the scene. There, they located a man with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries and learned that a number of people had fled in a dark-coloured Ford 150 truck prior to the arrival of the police.

The RCMP notified the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary, which quickly located the suspect vehicle near the Foxtrap Access Road.

The truck was seized for the purposes of the investigation. The woman was later located and taken into custody.  She faces charges of aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and break and enter. She was released from custody on conditions and is scheduled to attend court on Dec. 2

Police are looking to identify a man who was also believed to be involved in the attack. He is described as being tall and of a stocky build, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Today, RCMP Forensic Identification Services have been examining the truck and the investigation is continuing.
