Shortly before 2:30 a.m., Royal Newfoundland Constabulary officers pulled over a vehicle in the west end of St. John’s.

Police say the 40-year-old driver was found to be driving with a suspended license, no valid insurance, expired registration, and owed $10,151 in outstanding fines.

Police say the man then gave officers a false name.

He was charged with public mischief, resisting arrest and breaching two active court orders.

The man’s vehicle was impounded and he was transported to the St. John’s City Lock-up to appear in Provincial Court Saturday morning.
