Police seek public’s help with armed robbery investigation

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) is asking for the public’s help in their investigation of an armed robbery on Tuesday.

Just before 6 a.m., officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Ultramar located at 172 Freshwater Road.

The man was armed with an undisclosed weapon and demanded cash.

He’s described as about 6’ tall with blue eyes. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a black hoodie, a Blue Jays hat, and light coloured jogging pants.

The man fled the area on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash before police arrived.

There were no injuries.

The RNC’s Criminal Investigation Division is investigating and asks anyone with information to call them at 729-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
