It might not just be ATVs that you encounter if you are using the T’RailWay Provincial Park in central Newfoundland this summer.

The provincial department of Fisheries and Land Resources is advising those using the former CNR rail bed over the coming months to be particularly cautious when travelling near Maccles Lake, as a section of the the route near there has been temporarily approved for use by heavy equipment.

The approval has been granted along a 20-kilometre section of the T’Railway in the Cabin Pond-Maccles Lake area to provide access to a commercial forest harvesting operation located in Forest Management District 5.

It’s anticipated the forestry activity will commence this week and continue until the fall of this year.
