Power knocked out in large section of downtown St. John's after car hits pole

The power was out Friday afternoon in a large part of downtown St. John's because a vehicle struck a pole 

The outage affects the area around Duckworth Street, Gower Street, Battery Road, Water Street, Prescott Street, Signall Hill, Lime Street, Carter's Hill, Livingstone Street and Carter's Hill.

Newfoundland Power crews had the power restored quickly.
