Several areas of the province have lost power due to weather problems.

High winds have caused a power outage in Port Saunders, Eddies Cove and Port Au Choix. Newfoundland Hydro crews are responding but the company does not know yet when power can be restored. For updates visit nlhydro.com or check the company’s twitter feed @NLHydro.

Crews are working to repair overhead line damage. No estimate on restoration times has been given.

In the meantime Newfoundland and Labrador Power is reporting unplanned power outages in some areas of Gander, Grand Falls-Windsor, Buchans, Lewisporte, Glenwood, Twillingate, New-West Valley and vicinity. Areas around Corner Brook, Deer Lake and vicinity have also been affected.

Updated information for Newfoundland Power can be found here.
