The new regional acute care hospital in Corner Brook has reached an early milestone in its construction.
On Friday morning, the site hosted an event to commemorate the completion of steel beam erection for the hospital.
Newfoundland and Labrador Premier Andrew Furey, Corner Brook MHA Gerry Byrne and Western Health CEO Cynthia Davis participated in the event and beam-signing to mark the occasion.
Construction workers on site also signed their names to the steel beams, as well.
The seven-storey, 600,000-square foot, 164-bed acute care facility is scheduled to be completed in 2023. It will replace Western Memorial Regional Hospital.
