A call to police from a concerned citizen resulted in impaired driving charges against a 21-year-old Sheshatshiu woman earlier this month.
According to a RCMP release, police responded to a report of a possibly impaired driver in the Upper Lake Melville area at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 1.
Based on the description provided by the caller, police were able to track down the vehicle.
The woman provided breath samples that were over the legal limit, according to the release.
She was arrested and released with a date in Happy Valley-Goose Bay Provincial Court set for Oct. 29.
In addition to the impaired driving charges, the woman was also ticketed for having open liquor in a motor vehicle and operating an unregistered vehicle.
