In a Sunday morning news release from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), a spokesperson said police continue to investigate a sudden death involving suspicious circumstances that occurred in Trepassey on Wednesday.
“Police responded to the report of the death on Wednesday and residents can expect to see a continued police presence in the community in relation to this investigation over the next few days,” reads the news release.
According to police, there is currently no known risk to public safety.
The RCMP is working with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and the investigation is continuing.
