MAKKOVIK, N.L. — The Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Makkovik have opened an investigation into human remains found just outside the community on Saturday.

The remains have been sent to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in St. John’s for autopsy and identification. 

The investigation is ongoing.
