RCMP investigating theft of ATV, firearms from Tors Cove home

FERRYLAND, N.L. — The RCMP in Ferryland are asking the public’s help in finding out who broke into a house in Tors Cove and stole several items, including five non-restricted firearms.

The incident happening on Monday sometime between 6 p.m. and midnight, at which time the theft was discovered at a house on Beachy Cove Road.

Taken from the property were two red Honda ATVs — a red 2009 Honda Fourtrax 420 ATV, bearing Newfoundland and Labrador licence plate VDX315, and a 1998 Honda Fourtrax ATV.

The firearms stolen were a Winchester semi-automatic shotgun, two Springfield pump action shotguns, a Cooey model single-shot shotgun and a Lee Enfield 303 rifle.

Officers believe the suspects took off on the stolen ATVs.
