ST. JOHN'S, N.L. — A cocaine trafficking investigation led in St. John's has resulted in the seizure of four kilograms of the illicit substance and the arrest of three people, according to the RCMP Newfoundland and Labrador Federal Serious and Organized Crime Unit.
A search warrant executed in St. John's on Jan. 18 led to the arrest of a man and a woman, the capture of one kilogram of cocaine, electronic devices and other items consistent with drug trafficking. Simultaneously, in Etobicoke, Ont., RCMP arrested a man and seized three kilograms of cocaine.
Police expect to lay charges in both provinces.
The investigation was supported by RCMP units in Gander, the N.L. Emergency Response Team and Canadian Postal Inspectors.
