Dole brand Baby Spinach with Tender Reds has been recalled due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.
The product has been removed from shelves in Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Ontario.
According to Health Canada, an investigation by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) triggered the recall.
The product was sold in 142 gram packages with a best before date of Aug. 4, 2018.
To date, no illnesses have been reported in connection with consuming the product.
Symptoms of Listeria monocytogenes can include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache and neck stiffness.
