ST. JOHN'S, N.L. — The leaders of the province’s main political parties squared off in a televised and live streamed debate tonight.

The Telegram teamed up with CBC Newfoundland and Labrador and NTV to put off the one-hour event during which Liberal leader Dwight Ball, New Democratic Party leader Alison Coffin, and Progressive Conservative leader Ches Crosbie debated issues put to them by a panel of journalists.

The N.L. Alliance was not included in the debate since the party has previously not held a seat in the House of Assembly.

Led by moderator Lynn Burry of NTV, the panel includes the Telegram’s David Maher, NTV’s Michael Connors, and CBC’s Ariana Kelland.
