The Main Road, near Shoal Bay Road, in the Goulds area of St. John’s was closed for a period of time this afternoon as fire crews fought a blaze in a detached garage at the rear of a residence.
The garage and its contents — including a pickup truck — were destroyed in the blaze.
Members of the St. John's Regional Fire Department and crews from the Goulds Volunteer Fire Department attended the scene. The RNC responded and Eastern Health paramedics were on standby but no injuries were reported.
Smoke from the fire was visible from the Goulds By-pass Road.
Upon arrival, firefighter's were met with heavy fire and smoke.
