ST. JOHN'S, N.L. — A 24-year-old woman will appear in provincial court this morning after being stopped and arrested by RNC officers Wednesday night.

Police received several calls regarding a possible impaired driver in the Village Mall area around 8:30 p.m. Shortly thereafter, thanks to an off-duty RCMP officer following the suspected impaired driver’s vehicle, the RNC were able to execute a traffic safety stop and determined the woman was impaired by drugs and or alcohol.

The woman also has $2,400 in outstanding fines and was in breach of court orders against her.

Her vehicle was impounded and she spent the night in the St. John’s city lockup.
