A mini crime spree in St. John’s Sunday landed a pair of men in jail overnight and awaiting a court appearance this morning.

Just before 7 p.m., an off-duty Royal Newfoundland Constabulary officer spotted a stolen vehicle in the centre city area. When on-duty RNC officers attempted to stop the vehicles, both occupants left the vehicle and fled on foot.

RNC K-9 units were called in an located the two men who are also believed to be responsible for a theft from a shopping mall earlier in the day.

The men, aged 32 and 26, faces charges of theft, possession of stolen property and breaches of court order.
