A pair of drivers were nabbed over the weekend owing more than a combined $34,000 in outstanding fines.

One of the two cases stemmed from a traffic stop on Lemarchant Road in St. John’s which saw a 48-year-old man charged for driving while suspended and owing in excess of $18,000 in fines.

He was held in jail overnight pending a court appearance Monday.

In a second stop on Sunday, the RNC arrested a 35-year-old man on Seal Cove Road in C.B.S. after it was found he was driving without a license and owed approximately $16,000 in fines. He was also held overnight pending a court appearance on Monday.
