The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) continue to increase its presence in this region.
That presence was marked on Wednesday morning when RNC officers reported for work at a new location at 106 C.B.S. Highway in Conception Bay South.
The detachment will be a full service location that will include a walk-in service for the public who wish to make a complaint or report an accident.
The front desk walk-in service will be available from Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to  5 p.m.
In addition, traffic enforcement officers, patrol officers, police dog services, community services and criminal investigators will work fulltime from the new detachment under the leadership of an Inspector.
Any member of the public on the Northeast Avalon, requiring assistance from the RNC is reminded to call 911 in an emergency, or 729-8000 for non-emergencies.
