Effective 9 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29, a section of St. Thomas Line between Hickey’s Road and Deborah Lynn Heights will be closed to all traffic.

It’s expected to reopen to regular traffic on Friday afternoon, Nov. 2.

Traffic travelling northbound on St. Thomas Line will be detoured through Paradise Road and Camrose Drive, while southbound traffic will be detoured through Deborah Lynn Heights.

The Town of Paradise said access will be maintained to Hamilton’s Grocery during the road work.

The town said the road closure is required as part of water and sewer work ongoing in the area and is needed to accommodate the installation of underground infrastructure.

In a news release, the town outlined several traffic calming measures in place along the detour routes, including: appropriate signage along detour route, increased monitoring of construction site and detour route by town officials and municipal enforcement, and liaising with the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary to increase patrols in the area.
