A young male skateboarder was taken to hospital Sunday night after he was struck by an SUV in St. John’s.

The collision happened in the westbound lane of Newfoundland Drive near Rutledge Crescent just before 8 p.m. and left the victim with injuries that were not thought to be serious.

The car suffered damage to its front end and windshield.

The RNC is investigating the incident.
