ST. JOHN'S, N.L. — Bulk garbage pickup for St. John’s residents will return to the spring this year.

In recent years, the annual collection was completed during the fall, in September and October, but historically it’s been collected during the spring months. The previous council moved the collection to an autumn pickup.

Due to residents asking the city to return the once-a-year collection to the spring, when people typically do major housecleaning and decluttering, council has made the change.

Coun. Ian Froude made the announcement at the regular council meeting Monday evening.

Specific dates are yet to be announced.
