St. Johns, N.L. — A man who was driving a stolen car in the downtown area was rounded up after he fled the scene of an accident Friday morning.

The RNC first responded to a call around 9 a.m. of a possible impaired driver. While en route, police received an additional call to respond to an accident in the downtown area.

When police arrived the driver of the vehicle had fled the scene on foot, but was located a short time later.

He was arrested and charged with impaired driving, failing the Breathalyzer, leaving the

scene of an accident, possession of a stolen vehicle, and breach of undertaking.
