There were perhaps more Newfoundlanders tuned in to “Jeopardy!” Tuesday night than usual, because St. John’s woman Kirsten Morry was a contestant on the popular American quiz show.

Morry, 27, lost to returning champion Doug Dodson – a classical singer from Boston, Massachusetts.

Morry is an associate lawyer to the Commission of Inquiry Respecting the Muskrat Falls Project.

Called to the bar this past year, she had worked as an associate lawyer with Benson Buffett law firm.

According to that firm’s website, Morry is a graduate of McGill University’s faculty of law and holds a dual degree in common law and civil law.

Morry has also served on the St. John’s Transportation Commission and sings in the Philharmonic Choir of the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra.
