The Law Society of Newfoundland made the order effective May 3.
The notice of disbarment says Drover misappropriated more than $181,000 from three clients.
Drover was found to have paid legal fees to his company by transferring close to $221,000 from trust funds without issuing copies or notification to his clients.
He also advanced funds to personal injury clients before receipt of settlement proceeds.
The Law Society also stated he attempted to mislead the society and did not respond to communications in a timely manner.
Drover was reprimanded and ordered to pay 50 per cent of the expenses incurred by the Law Society in the investigation and hearing of the complaint. The adjudication panel ordered that the decision and order be subject to publication in accordance with the Law Society Rules.
The instances that prompted the sanction took place in St. John’s during the period between 2011 and 2014.
