A 22-year-old man is facing charges of assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and breaches of court orders after an assault in the center city area of St. John’s Saturday afternoon.
According to a Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) report, around 12:30 p.m. officers responded to a report of an assault.
With the help of the RNC’s criminal investigation division and forensic identification section, officers arrested the man.
He was brought to the city lock-up to await a court appearance.
The report says the victim of the assault was admitted to hospital but has since been released.
