A 26-year-old man is facing an assault charge following a disturbance in a home in the centre portion of St. John’s at 8 a.m. on Tuesday.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary were called to the home for a reported domestic disturbance. After a short investigation, they arrested the male on the assault charge.
He was released and will appear in court at a later date.
In a separate call, around 10:30 p.m., the RNC were following up on an old assault investigation in the city’s west end.
After they completed their investigation, they arrested a 42-year-old man on an outstanding assault charge and took him to lockup where he was held overnight pending a court appearance on Wednesday.|
These calls were just two of the 165 the RNC attended to during its regular 24-hour reporting period.
