The St. John’s Tool Library has become a great resource for do-it-yourselfers.
To continue to meet the demand and serve current and new members, it will be hosting a tool drive on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the 151 Empire Ave. location.
The Tool Library is hoping the public will step up and donate 1,000 tools which will help the community thrive, become more resilient and save money.
In addition, instead of sitting idle, the tools will help serve the environment by not winding up in a landfill or force manufacturers to waste resources in making new tools.
The St. John’s Tool Library members are doing projects in their homes, gardens and in their community and its tools are heavily used by community gardens, non-profit organizations, artists, charities and small businesses.
If you have some tools to offer you can drop them off at the Library, send a note to [email protected], or call 754-8665 and our volunteers will be happy to come pick them up on June 22.
Items that are on the wish list for the Tool Library are: lawn mowers, whipper snipper, circular saw, mitre saw, tile saw, palm sanders, mouse sanders, air compressor, brad nail gun, extension cords (heavy), jig saw, multi-tool/oscillating tool, laminate cutter, shop vacuums, belt sander, crimper, stud finder, cut-out tool and wheelbarrows.
To help facilitate the donations, the Tool Library is offering $20 vouchers to be used towards a library membership, workshop or purchase of merchandise.
As a thank you, each donor receives a $20 voucher for use towards a tool library membership, a workshop, or merchandise and our many thanks!
