ST. JOHN'S, N.L. — Coun. Debbie Hanlon, lead for transportation, declared “winter is over” – at least when it comes to the downtown parking ban.

The announcement was made at the St. John’s city council meeting Monday evening.

That means the city-wide overnight parking restrictions and the late-night parking restriction in the downtown are all officially over for another year.

However, the “no parking-snow route streets,” where parking is prohibited 24 hours a day, will see the ban stay in place until March 31. Those areas are indicated with signs posted on those particular roads.
