New evidence in the Victoria Head murder case has led to new charges against her accused killer.

Steven Bragg, 35, of Mount Pearl was originally charged with second-degree murder on Dec. 22, but on Monday the RNC upgraded those charges to first-degree murder.

Bragg will appear in provincial court on Monday afternoon.

Head, 36, was originally from Placentia, but living in St. John’s. Her body was found near O’Brien’s Farm near Oxen Pond Road on Nov. 11.

Police say the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the RNC or Crime Stoppers.
