Striking Dominion workers held a rally Thursday morning at the Loblaw distribution centre in Mount Pearl, as Loblaw Companies Limited asked the Newfoundland Supreme Court for an injunction to limit the action in front of the distribution centre.

Loblaw lawyers told the court that while the company understands workers are on a legal strike, they don’t believe picket lines should totally block off trucks from going to and from the distribution centre, but the company was willing to accept a delay at the site.

Unifor National President Jerry Dias said the company could choose to end the strike altogether by negotiating with workers rather than spend their resources and time in court.

Dominion workers are now in week nine of strike action, which began Aug. 22.
