Sweet beginnings of the festive season in Corner Brook

Three-year-olds Lexi Sullivan, left, and MacKenzie Terry sing carols and ring jingle bells they and other kids from Stepping Stones Day Care brought to the opening of the Gingerbread House at the Valley Mall in Corner Brook Friday morning. This is the 37th year for the project — co-sponsored by the mall, the Salvation Army and VOCM — that accepts donated gifts to be distributed to needy families during the Christmas season. Last year, around 2,700 gifts were dropped off at the Gingerbread House structure located on the mall’s lower level.
