St. John's, N.L. — Premier Dwight Ball is expected to return as special guest at the third annual breakfast fundraiser in support of Hope Air, Ham, Eggs and Hope Tuesday morning at the Holiday Inn.

Hope Air is a national charity that provides free flights for low-income Canadians who need to travel for medical appointments. It helps make Canada’s universal healthcare accessible by bridging the distance between home and hospital, patient and physician, according to its website.

Last year’s event in St. John’s raised enough money to fly 100 people in this province to necessary medical appointments.

Since 2012, Hope Air has donated more than 4,000 flights to individuals in need in Newfoundland and Labrador. Nationally, it’s provided about 135,000 flights since it was first founded in 1986.

Tickets for Tuesday’s event are $200 each or $2,000 for a table of 10.

For sponsorship information and to purchase tickets, contact Jim Burton, 682-8663 or [email protected]. A charitable tax receipt of $180 per ticket will be issued.
