ST. JOHN'S, N.L. — The Royal Newfoundland constabulary arrested three men late Saturday night in connection with an armed robbery that occurred in St. John’s centre shortly before 11 p.m.

Patrol services responded to the report of the robbery at a convenience store where a man in his 20s entered the store armed with an edged weapon and fled with a small amount of cash.

Three males were apprehended and held for court. All three were charged with armed robbery among other offences.

Meanwhile, the RNC is also investigating an armed robbery that took place earlier in the evening in Conception Bay South. In that incident a man believed to be in his 30s entered a business with an edged weapon, fleeing the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.

No injuries were reported.

The matter is under investigation.
