Lunch-hour traffic was backed up today considerably in all directions due to a three-vehicle accident at the intersection of Allandale Road and Prince Philip Drive in St. John's Wednesday.

One person has been taken to hospital by Eastern Health paramedics with undetermined injuries. It's unknown if the rainfall has contributed to the  accident, but roads are wet.

The RNC are currently on scene directing traffic and investigating the mishap.

The road will be opened to vehicular traffic in all lanes once tow trucks arrive on scene and remove the vehicles and debris from the very busy intersection.
